Were looking for an experienced and motivated Gas and Heating Engineer to join a busy public sector property team on a temporary contract basis. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a major housing and property improvement programme within a thriving local community.
The Opportunity Youll play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of mechanical installations across a varied housing and property portfolio. Working both on-site and in the office, youll carry out site surveys, inspections, and reports, as well as provide technical oversight for heating, hot water, and other mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct surveys of mechanical installations and heating/hot water systems
* Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and technical reports
* Oversee planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) and refurbishment programmes
* Support compliance and asset data management activities
* Contribute to developing best practice in mechanical and heating services
* Ensure works meet statutory and safety requirements
About You Youll bring solid technical knowledge and hands-on experience in gas and heating engineering, along with the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential:
* Current Gas Safe registration with domestic ACS qualifications
* Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering
* Working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
* Experience in housing or local authority property environments
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Confident with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook and Teams
Desirable:
* Commercial gas ACS qualifications
* Asbestos Awareness and CDM knowledge
* Understanding of heat loss calculations and heat network systems
