CarmichaelUK are currently looking for a Sub Agent to work on a major Tier 1 highways project in Cambridgeshire.
As Sub Agent, you ll play a key part in managing a section of the construction works. You'll be responsible for planning, programming, delivering your section of work. You'll have the support of an Agent and wider delivery team, but you ll lead the detailed day-to-day delivery and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of your section of works, managing detailed planning, delivery, and handover.
* Lead a site team, creating a positive and productive working environment.
* Conduct temporary works inspections and manage temporary works requirements.
* Review design documents and raise technical queries.
* Produce and maintain a 3-month lookahead programme aligned with the contract schedule.
* Maintain accurate site records and communicate any changes or issues.
* Manage requisitions for plant and materials efficiently.
* Ensure quality documentation is captured and stored correctly.
* Generate and close out NCRs in a timely manner.
* Set clear H&S and environmental expectations with your team and supply chain.
* Actively identify and implement carbon reduction opportunities on your section.
Requirements
* Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or similar.
* Strong knowledge of highways construction and civil engineering techniques.
* Effective communicator with both written and verbal skills.
* Understanding of construction contracts and documentation.
* Competent in digital tools (MS Office, document control systems, site-based digital apps).
* SMSTS and relevant CSCS Card required.
* Experience leading site teams and delivering work safely and efficiently.
Desirable Experience
* Excavation works (HSG47, permit to dig management)
* Lifting operations (Appointed Person - CPCS A61)
* Temporary works (Supervisor, Designer, or Coordinator training)
* Experience in concrete and structural steelwork
