Join the Communications team at the University of Essex to deliver excellent, timely and inspiring communications to promote our values and purpose within the university community and around the world.
You will be raising the University’s profile for excellence in research and education by creating content which engages audiences at a regional, national and international level.
Duties of the Role
You will be promoting the University’s vision, values and purpose to staff at all levels, students and external audiences including key stakeholders. You will help hone key messages to develop and deliver integrated communications across all channels and work-streams.
You will be looking to engage audiences within the university community and at a regional, national and international level using a variety of media, including print, online, blogs, podcasts, video and social media content.
You will lead on communications for our world-leading departments and innovative professional services sections.
You will identify projects and initiatives to raise the profile of university campaigns and work closely with teams across the University to ensure there is an integrated approach to content.
You will develop and deliver integrated communications plans for departments, research projects, key organisational changes and major University developments.
Skills and qualifications required
This role is perfect for someone with a strong track record in communications, who is educated to degree level or has an equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
You will have significant experience of creating content for a variety of audiences using different approaches including experience of building relationships with journalists at a regional and national level.
You will have the experience and ability to produce timely and innovative content to promote the University’s values and purpose both within the university community and beyond.
