You will be joining a well-established and growing highways specialist subcontractor delivering street furniture and minor civil works across England. The business works closely with Tier 1 contractors and agents on major frameworks and is currently experiencing a strong uplift in workload. Due to increased client documentation requirements, they are expanding theirmercial and operational support function.
Your new role
As an office‑focused Contracts Manager, you will be based out of thepany’s Derby office, supporting live projects nationwide primarily from a documentation, coordination and client‑facing perspective. The role is designed to reduce pressure on site‑based teams by taking ownership of Tier 1 paperwork, programmes and reporting.
Key duties will include:
1. Producing and managing RAMS, programmes and project documentation
2. Managing Tier 1 and client paperwork requirements
3. Supporting site teams with contractual and administrative tasks
4. Preparing reports for progress and performance meetings
5. Liaising closely with site‑based Contracts Managers and Supervisors
6. Ensuringpliance with health and safety, quality and client standards
This role is predominantly office‑based, with minimal travel and no regular night work.
What you'll need to succeed
7. A background in highways, civils, fencing or related infrastructure works
8. Strong experience managing client and Tier 1 documentation
9. Confidence using IT systems, programmes and reporting tools
10. CSCS card
11. SSSTS as a minimum
SMSTS and direct VRS experience are desirable but not essential, as full technical support and training will be provided.
