About the Role — Learning Support Assistant (SEN)
Location: Central Manchester
Salary: £101.40 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:45 pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 5th January 2026
Interviews and trial days taking place beforehand
This role involves supporting children with high-support Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Global Development Delay (GDD) in specialist and mainstream schools. Some pupils communicate non-verbally, making creativity, emotional intelligence, and patience key to success in this role.
You will support pupils with:
1. Sensory regulation and sensory care
2. Personal care (toilet care and hygiene routines)
3. Communication through play, art, music, and visual tools
4. Daily routines that reflect the work of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Clinical Psychologists
This role gives you clinical exposure and practical experience that universities value when applying for Clinical Psychology or Art Therapy postgraduate routes.
