The Role
The Digital, Systems & Information Officer is a vital member of the Business Support Team, providing support to Environmental Health & Licensing. As the ‘go-to’ member regarding systems, your responsibilities will include:
1. Responding to users’ enquiries, providing technical support and troubleshooting solutions for software applications, and maintaining application documentation and support materials, including electronic operational procedures manuals.
2. Developing and implementing technical solutions and promoting the better use of technology to support statutory functions and wider services.
3. Ensuring the effective operation and future development of Planning and Environmental Services software systems, reporting statutory data returns to central government, and providing monitoring data as required.
About You
* You will need to be highly organised with strong communication skills. Working across the environmental health team and the rest of the council, a solution-focused mentality will serve you well.
* You should be a competent and experienced user of administrative systems with a clear understanding of operational functionality and systems administration duties, including setting user controls, securities, release testing, integrity checks, and configuration.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently, troubleshooting software and system errors, and implementing effective solutions.
