About this Role

VACANCY FOR PROFESSIONAL GOVERNANCE CLERK
Meridian Trust Core

Salary:

Each session will be paid at a flat rate of £175.

This rate will be all inclusive of work required before, during and after the meeting including but not limited to:
* Pre-meeting paperwork (invitation letters, agenda)
* Meeting attendance with minute taking and drafting outcome letter
* Post meeting actions (outcome letters, minutes)

This is a casual post, and the individual would be required to work ad-hoc with advance notice.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a professional governance clerk. The individual play a crucial role in supporting the governance and operational functions in respect of permanent exclusions and complaint committees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, timelines and best practice.

The Opportunity
* Liaise with trust and academy staff to facilitate meetings to fit the purpose and to meet statutory obligations.
* Schedule meetings in line with statutory timeframes and notify all parties of arrangements; ensuring compliance is maintained if rescheduling is required.
* Ensure all parties have access to agenda and other meeting papers in line with statutory timeframes.
* Prepare a draft outcome letter and work with the Chair to ensure panel discussion and decision is accurately captured and appropriately communicated to all parties.
* Maintain a secure record of confidential data which is compliant with the GDPR.
The ideal candidate
* Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Clerking experience including preparation of meeting agendas, papers and minutes within time constraints
* Experience of working within the educational system.
* Working knowledge of a range of software packages including the production of minutes.
* Knowledge of the law as it relates to school governance and the roles and responsibilities of permanent exclusion process
