Pickering Grange Equestrian are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their busy groom team, you will learn various aspects of horse management including: Yard duties will include: Turning out and bringing in Mucking out Feeding, watering and haying Grooming Clipping and trimming Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times Bandaging Tacking up Lunging/long rein Riding Assisting with events Field maintenance The right candidate would have an opportunity to go and groom for Rachel (owner) at one of her events. A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image we pride ourselves on. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, dedicated team. Within the role, the successful candidate will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Equine with further training and employment available for the right candidate. Desired skills and Qualities Must be able to work alone at times and as part of a team You need to be outgoing with a love of horses, a great team player and a wish to learn all about horses and their care. Applicants must have some experience of handling horses and show this on application Good communication Committed Reliable Team player Friendly Desired qualifications GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English are desired Future prospects Progression onto level 3 for the right candidate. Training Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
