Role: Senior Delivery Manager - Credit Risk Strategies
Location: Halifax, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-impact programmes within the Credit Risk Strategy domain of retail banking. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end implementation of strategic credit risk initiatives across retail banking portfolios, ensuring seamless collaboration between business, risk, and technology teams.
You will bring a deep understanding of credit risk decisioning, hands-on experience with SAS programming, and strong leadership in agile delivery environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management and delivery discipline, ensuring programmes are executed efficiently, compliantly, and in full alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex credit risk strategy programmes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive delivery and ensure effective interlock across multiple platforms and teams.
* Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery within agreed timelines, managing risks and dependencies proactively.
* Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk management, and governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support strategy implementation through data-driven validation and alignment with credit decisioning logic.
* Champion agile delivery practices, fostering continuous improvement and collaboration across teams.
Required Qualifications
* Strong understanding of credit risk strategies and decisioning logic within the retail banking environment.
* Demonstrable experience delivering large-scale programmes involving credit risk systems or decisioning engines.
* Proficiency in SAS programming and Excel for data analysis, validation, and strategy implementation.
* Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders in an Agile delivery setup.
* Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
* Previous experience working in retail banking or financial services is highly desirable.
Skills and Personal Attributes
* Experience in credit risk systems implementation or strategy optimisation.
* Prior delivery experience with major retail banks.
* Project Management or Agile certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe) are an advantage.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivery excellence.
