Job Overview
The role involves working in the toilet repair facility, where you will overhaul toilet modules, including stripping, cleaning, replacing components, testing, and commissioning before refitting them to FLIRT units. You will also maintain and replace defective compressors to ensure fleet performance, using diagnosis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance and overhaul tasks on toilet modules and compressors following work instructions and OEM manuals.
* Carry out fault finding, repairs, and maintain stock levels of compressor units.
* Provide technical feedback to management and support project activities.
* Document work using systems like Infor EAM (SRMS), including work orders, hours, and materials.
* Support fleet performance and customer service by improving toilet efficiency and reducing failure rates.
* Follow health and safety practices and contribute to creating and updating safety and work instructions.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned, aiming to meet targets and improve processes.
Essential Requirements
* Recognized apprenticeship with City and Guilds / BTEC Level or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in rolling stock maintenance or similar.
* Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Teamwork and commitment to professional development.
* Customer-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
Desirable Qualifications
* HNC / HND or higher in a relevant subject.
* 5+ years in the rail industry.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and reports.
* Valid PTS certification.
