Role Overview:
As an Autism Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism to access education, develop social and communication skills, and thrive within a nurturing school environment. You will work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with autism.

Assist in developing communication, social, and independent living skills.

Implement personalised strategies and interventions.

Support classroom learning and adapt activities to meet individual needs.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and specialists.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with autism (essential).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Relevant training or qualifications in autism or special educational needs (desirable).

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
