Job Vacancy: Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience

Our client, a respected family run contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment and maintenance projects is seeking a motivated individual to join their commercial team.

About the Role:
Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project teams, you’ll assist in the commercial management of various housing contracts from reactive maintenance to planned works and refurbishments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support in preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Assist in cost tracking, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
* Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate and timely information.
* Help procure subcontract packages and analyse quotes.
* Maintain and organise contract documentation and commercial records.
* Learn and grow through hands-on experience and mentioning from senior staff.
What We're Looking For:
o A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree)
o 1–2 years experience in a similar role, within construction or housing.
o A genuine desire to learn and progress your career.
o Strong communication and organisational skills.
o Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
