Finance Officer - Belfast - Hybrid - Permanent Your new company You will be joining a well-established public-sector organisation that plays an important role in overseeing essential services and ensuring strong standards of governance, financial stewardship and accountability. Your new role Handle day-to-day finance tasks, including invoice processing, staff expenses and payment runs. Support procurement administration and maintain accurate contract and documentation records. Prepare sales invoices and assist with debt-recovery activity when required. Help with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journals, VAT and audit preparation. Assist with budget monitoring, producing variance information and supporting financial reporting. Maintain compliance with finance procedures and contribute to updating internal policies. Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations. What you'll need to succeed A recognised accounting qualification such as ATI, AAT, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or equivalent), plus a minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a similar finance role. Experience managing payment processes, month-end responsibilities and working confidently to tight deadlines. Evidence of implementing or adhering to financial policies, procedures and internal controls, with the ability to communicate these across an organisation.
