Unit Overview
We have a permanent Band 6 vacancy in a hybrid unit combining 4 inpatient beds and 8 outpatient spaces for our ambulatory patients, primarily caring for haematological malignancies and teenage & young adult (TYA) cancers. The unit has recently expanded to other areas within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate service delivery on Palatine Ambulatory Care and Withington Ward.
* Provide day‑to‑day unit management, ensuring timely treatment, staff support and smooth ward operations.
* Deliver a wide range of systemic anti‑cancer treatments safely and in line with JACIE accreditation standards.
* Support the Unit Manager with audit work, service reviews and provide managerial support to a nursing team, reviewing performance, sickness and development.
* Encourage and facilitate patient education and support for ambulatory care treatments.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse with NMC registration and adherence to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Experience in haematology or oncology essential; TYA nursing experience desirable.
* Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
* Willingness to undertake extensive clinical skills training to deliver systemic anti‑cancer treatments.
* Full training will be provided within a recognised framework.
Working Hours & Contract
24/7 roster – primarily 07:30 to 20:00 or 20:00 – 07:30, covering all 7 days including bank holidays. Additional shifts may vary from 08:00 – 16:00 or 10:00 – 18:00.
Full‑time Band 6 contract.
