The Role: Surf Desk Team Member The Surf Desk role is critical in creating the right first impression of Lost Shore and enabling our visitors to have the best experience possible. Your knowledge and passion for surfing and excellent people skills are essential for making guests feel safe and welcome, particularly first-time surfers. Your understanding of surf equipment will enable you to offer support to our Retail and Surf Ops team when required. Role Overview § Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager. § Welcoming our visitors to the resort with energy and enthusiasm. § Checking in surfers at our Surf Reception, creating/amending bookings, ensuring all visitors have signed their safety waiver before entering the pool. § Accountable for delivering a world class visitor experience in our Surf Reception. § Supporting Retail and Surf Ops teams when required. Visitor Experience: Champion immersive and engaging visitor experiences that align with the Lost Shore brand. Go above and beyond for all of our visitors and pass on your passion for surfing. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly and courteously. Offering advice on surf equipment to ensure visitors get the most out of their surf. Reassuring any nervous first-time surfers and making them feel welcome. Working as a Team: Fostering a positive and adaptive work culture in collaboration with leadership, ensuring effective communication and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Supporting our Surf Ops team at the wetsuit desk and our Retail team in our surf shop when required to maximise customer experience. Qualifications, Skills and Experience § Experienced surfer who’s eager to share their knowledge and passion for the sport with others. § A natural host, with strong interpersonal skills and a big personality to welcome our guests to the resort. § Possess sound knowledge of surf equipment, and ability to offer personalised recommendations to customers, ensuring an exceptional surfing experience. § Thrives under pressure, displaying high energy and determination to excel. § Customer-focused, maintaining unwavering standards of excellence. § Demonstrates impeccable organisational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective time management skills. § Flexible and dedicated, demonstrating professionalism and a team-focused attitude. Additional Information: As a Surf Desk Team Member you’ll need to be flexible with your schedule, as the resort is open 7 days a week. For this role we will mainly require you to work weekends with a variety of shift times. Your commitment to ensuring the resort’s smooth operation during peak times is essential.
