Part of a global group my client are a market leading manufacturer of external doors. For the last 3 years the company has been going through a positive transformation in particular on the Operations side of the business.
To maintain the company's progression and growth they are now seeking a Commercial Director to join the business to take ownership of the Sales/Commercial function of the business. This is a key role for the business, offering a direct career path into becoming the Managing Director within 1-2 years.
As Commercial Director you would plan and implement strategies to grow revenue and drive profit. This role leads the sales, marketing and customer-facing teams with responsibility for product lifecycle management including new product development. You would actively contribute to formal business planning and annual budget processes, whilst demonstrating a high degree of accountability and championing building trusting relationships with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive growth and maximise profit.
* Lead the sales, marketing, and customer service teams including performance management and succession planning.
* Leverage resources such as market research, regulatory information and professional networks to anticipate market trends, competitor activities and industry developments.
* Lead the development and execution of product plans including product lifecycle management to ensure the brand, product offering, and customer programs are innovative, relevant, and competitive.
* Develop and execute marketing plans that improve visibility of and enhance the brand in the UK.
* Build strong relationships with customers, commercial partners and industry stakeholders.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to validate commercial initiatives and ensure organizational alignment & support.
* Establish and execute pricing strategies to optimise retention, growth and profitability.
Required skills and qualifications
* Demonstrated success leading commercial, sales or marketing teams with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets and business growth objectives.
* Strong understanding of market dynamics, sales strategies and business development principles in the UK market.
* Proficiency with market research, data analysis, financial forecasting and budgeting.
* Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* High level of analytical and strategic thinking.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of Operations Management and knowledge of working for a manufacturer would be ideal for future progression
* Strong financial acumen
* Experience within the fenestration/building materials or similar would also be beneficial
This is a permanent role offering a strong salary and package including bonuses and profit sharing incentives. The position also offers a fast track into becoming Managing Director within 1-2 years, so the position would only be suitable for people with this ambition.
Initially a hybrid working role, once you become MD you would then be required to be site based. This is a fantastic opportunity to really stamp your own mark on a highly reputable business
