We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to begin their independent career as a Tenure Track Fellow (Lecturer) in paediatric inflammatory disease within the Department in Women’s and Children’s Health.
We seek applicants whose research interest lies within the area of paediatric inflammatory disease (including, but not limited to, rheumatology, immunology, infectious diseases, respiratory, renal, etc.) with a focus on molecular mechanisms of inflammation. It is anticipated that the appointee’s research focus will be understanding the reasons why systemic or organ-specific inflammation and damage occur and how they manifest, identifying new diagnostic and/or prognostic markers as well as therapeutic strategies.
You will be situated at the Alder Hey Institute in the Park and work closely with academic colleagues across the department and the wider university, our clinical colleagues in Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and national partners within the NIHR GOSH Biomedical Research Centre’s Paediatric Excellence Initiative to address the molecular pathophysiology of inflammatory diseases. The department and university offer ample opportunities to work with colleagues from other specialties, departments and faculties. Lastly, the university offers access to state-of-the-art shared research facilities, including the Spatial Transcriptomics Facility, the Computational Biology Facility, Spatial Genomics Facility, etc.
The post is full-time and is available immediately for 5 years with a review point after 3 years.
