Role Overview:
As Senior Operations Manager, you will be involved in numerous operational projects and play a crucial role in supporting our operational team across multiple disciplines. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve operations, reducing waste, and delivering fully costed initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can also work hands-on to deliver projects within tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead diverse teams across multiple locations and disciplines.
* Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements.
* Produce development and succession plans for key team members.
* Deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Document workflows and ensure adherence to processes.
* Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Create accurate forecasts for resourcing and oversee planning and dispatch functions.
* Attend customer-facing meetings to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency.
* Provide a strong presence at our head office in Purfleet and travel nationally to support the wider network.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams.
* Experience in process mapping and problem-solving.
* Strong financial skills with a positive impact on P&L.
* Background in transport/logistics, preferably in fuel/gas.
* Experience in managing change and working within a unionized environment.
* MCPC – International, IOSH/NEBOSH/CMIOSH qualifications.
* High-impact presentation and communication skills.
* Strong written, numeric, and IT skills.
