Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment process Job Overview PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD Responsible for providing specialist psychological services to ABUHB employees. This will primarily include face to face psychological therapy with individuals including trauma focused work, and may also include interventions and training based work with Teams. It will involve conducting psychosocial assessments with individuals and the delivery of appropriate therapeutic interventions for the full range of difficulties experienced by adults of working age, including complex clinical difficulties. It may also involve working with and offering evidence based interventions for teams if required. Main duties of the job To conduct psychological assessments for employees (the service user) who experience a range of psychological difficulties including those described as complex mental health problems, such as PTSD. This will include using interview techniques, psychometric tests, behavioural observation, functional analysis where appropriate. To construct a psychological formulation of each service users’ difficulties and develop an individualised intervention. To provide the psychological interventions required to address the service users’ difficulties, as indicated by the formulation. To be a key contributor of psychological knowledge and expertise to the work of the EWS team. To be responsible for all administrative tasks relating to case-work including keeping case notes, therapeutic correspondence, service user data base records etc. in line with the Policies and Procedures of the Health Board and WOD Specialty. To engage in joint clinical work with colleagues where appropriate. To be responsible for own clinical work and work as an independent practitioner. TEAM WORK If required, to carry out team based assessment and intervention work under the supervision of Head of Service within the EWS. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Qualifications Essential criteria Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, accredited by the BPS Desirable criteria Accreditation in a psychological model IT skills training Experience Essential criteria Significant post-qualification experience as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Suitable experience of working with adults with psychological/mental health difficulties Desirable criteria Training in EMDR and CT-PTSD
