We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager with a strong industrial background to lead site operations and support the delivery of complex mechanical packages.
The Role
This is a senior site-based leadership position responsible for overseeing mechanical works on industrial construction projects. You will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure that works are executed in line with programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives.
The role requires a technically strong Mechanical Engineering professional with extensive industrial experience and the ability to build and leverage contractor and supplier networks within the UK market.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Management & Supervision: Lead and manage mechanical installation activities on site, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality execution of works.
* Programme & Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily and weekly site activities in line with project programmes and milestones.
* Team & Subcontractor Management: Supervise subcontractors, in house direct labour, and suppliers to ensure productivity, performance, and adherence to contractual scope.
* HSE Leadership: Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across site activities.
Technical & Quality Control
* Mechanical Installation Oversight: Oversee installation of pipework, mechanical systems, plant, and associated industrial equipment in accordance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
* Quality Assurance & Inspections: Ensure works are inspected, tested, and documented in line with QA/QC procedures and project requirements.
* Technical Problem Solving: Provide on-site engineering support, resolve technical challenges, and coordinate design clarifications where required.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure works comply with UK construction regulations and industry standards.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and experienced Mechanical Site Manager with strong industrial construction expertise. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge, leadership capability, and commercial awareness, while being capable of managing complex mechanical installations in demanding industrial environments.
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial construction/site management roles.
* Mechanical Engineering degree (essential).
* Proven track record managing mechanical works on industrial projects.
* Experience managing subcontractors, programme delivery, and site-based teams.
* Solid understanding of UK construction regulations and HSE requirements.
* Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
