Overview
Locum Specialty Doctor in Breast Surgery – fixed term for 12 months. Part time – 6 PAs per week. Salary scale: £64,158 - £99,975 per annum pro rata. NHS Forth Valley is in the heart of Scotland.
Responsibilities
* Work within the Breast team and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team’s outpatients.
* Perform the duties of the Breast Specialty Doctor, attending outpatient sessions.
* Occasionally assist in theatre.
Qualifications and requirements
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Minimum of 4 years’ post‑qualification experience, at least two of which will be in Breast Surgery at Specialist Trainee level or equivalent.
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.
* Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development.
* Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.

NHS Forth Valley is the largest employer in the area, with around 8,000 staff. Services are provided across one acute hospital, four community hospitals and fifty-six health centres. The Breast team currently comprises 3 Consultant Surgeons, 1 Associate Specialist, and this post as Specialty Doctor. The hospital is located in the heart of Scotland, near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, with good transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
