We are recruiting a Shift Manager for our growing Production team at our site in Royton, Oldham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills by ensuring health and safety expectations, production output, quality, and efficiency are achieved on your shift, while motivating and developing your team to exceed targets.
Our Shift Managers work a rotating 3-shift pattern: AM, PM & Nights.
Duties of the Role
Your daily tasks and responsibilities will include:
1. Team Management: Leading and motivating a production team to achieve targets, maximize line efficiency, minimize costs, and safeguard safety and quality. Managing daily SOR meetings to foster open communication and build a collaborative team environment.
2. Shift Management: Managing daily staffing levels, including holiday requests, ensuring crewing sheets are completed accurately, and that resource availability is communicated to all departments.
3. Performance Management: Communicating daily and hourly line performance targets to the production team professionally, taking responsibility for meeting these targets.
4. Team Development: Using the performance management framework to develop team members, ensuring all are trained to perform their tasks, with sign-off documentation completed and verified.
5. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all legal and company regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards. Liaising with the Quality Department to ensure QC procedures are followed.
6. Liaising with Departments: Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, H&S, Stores, and HR teams to optimize production efficiency.

* Previous supervisory experience leading and mentoring at least 20 people
* Knowledge and application of TPM/lean manufacturing
* Experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Qualifications in people management and health and safety are preferred
