Teacher of Carpentry (Aboriginal Targeted) - Paid to Learn Gamilaroi/Kamilaroi Country – Tamworth Campus 1 x Permanent Full-time Package Range: $108,057 - $128,149. Package includes salary ($95,630 - $113,411) employer's superannuation and annual leave loading (salary offered will be based on experience). About the role We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Carpentry students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent full-time basis, located at Tamworth Campus. In this role you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. Proudly teaching Carpentry and Joinery. As a teacher you will lead students through a range of indoor and outdoor projects including roof, wall and floor framing as well as site set-out, cladding and other skills required for a successful Carpenter. To find out more about the role, click to view the Position Description Essential Requirements: Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent. Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document ( here ) for details ) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course Have a minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry This is a targeted recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in accordance with Rule 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 - Employment of eligible persons. As such, preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. If no suitable candidate is found, other applications may also be considered. Aboriginal candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide “Confirmation of Aboriginality” documentation at or before interview. Paid to Learn : for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
