Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast/Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field. As a Breakfast/Commis Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation while adhering to food safety regulations.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring freshness and quality.
* Support chefs in cooking and plating meals according to established recipes and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas.
* Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
* Participate in menu planning and development alongside senior kitchen staff.
* Assist in training new kitchen staff, sharing knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety practices.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a strong understanding of food production processes.
* Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous.
* A solid foundation in culinary techniques, including cooking and food preparation.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
* Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and management.

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
