Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital business, covering parts of Reading and the surrounding areas on a full time basis. Equans Digital has a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure upgrades and enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education and government sectors throughout the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become “Smart Enabled”, allowing further value across sites via our IoT solutions and driving social, economic and environmental benefits for portfolios of sites and especially for the people operating and living within them.
Equans Digital currently delivers project works ranging from £10k‑£1.5m in singular size plus variations via an evolving blend of in‑house delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next three to five years, this role will be paramount in helping to define, shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.
Key activities
* Install, configure and commission BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators and software systems.
* Carry out maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium and Distech BMS’s on our various sites.
* Work the reactive call‑out rota (with additional financial benefit for being on call and attending service).
* Provide specialist technical assistance and support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
* Identify opportunities for improvement or remedial work to enhance the performance of BMS’s for our clients.
* Prepare proposals and quotes for works as required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guild / BTEC / NVQ Electrical qualifications.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of BMS / HVAC.
* Knowledge and experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech and Siemens.
* Excellent working knowledge of the electrical industry.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
* Understanding of IT networks.
* Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Controls training/experience.
* Experience with fault‑finding in electrical panels.
* DBS and potential BPSS vetting.
* Excellent written and communication skills.
