Job Title: Key Account Manager
Reporting to:
Operations Director
Job objectives and responsibilities:
1. Management of waste contracts for key industrial clients, primarily in Northern England.
2. Line management of on-site operational teams.
3. Maintain and develop client relationships to sustain and grow waste services.
4. Collaborate with the Operations Director and teams to identify innovative service opportunities beyond traditional waste collection.
5. Maintain, monitor, and develop relationships with relevant subcontractors.
6. Work with the Operations Director and teams to develop and implement strategies for service enhancement and cost savings.
7. Monitor the quality and accuracy of Management Information reports produced by the MI team.
8. Oversee the quality and accuracy of invoices prepared by the Finance team.
9. Ensure the accuracy of waste data on the Mitie Wastes WR1 system.
10. Develop and implement strategic waste management plans aligned with client environmental and accreditation objectives.
11. Ensure client compliance with current and future environmental, health, and safety regulations.
12. Conduct site audits of suppliers and clients.
13. Ensure contracts are executed safely and efficiently, liaising with clients and monitoring site operations as needed.
14. Act as the first point of contact for client queries related to waste activities.
15. Coordinate with the Mitie Waste Finance team to minimize debt and work-in-progress.
16. Identify opportunities for account growth.
17. Possess knowledge or experience in contract management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management.
18. Experience in line management of operational shift teams.
19. Experience in handling and packaging waste chemicals is advantageous.
