We are seeking a dynamic senior occupational therapist for a 12 month secondment. The occupational therapist must share our values, demonstrate curiosity, and welcome challenges at St Mark's Hospital. You'll manage a complex caseload, delivering tailored rehabilitation to adults and older adults with multi-pathologies and frailty. Using advanced clinical reasoning, specialist manual skills, and collaborative goal‑setting, you'll help maximise potential, regain independence and transition successfully to the community.

Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is a compassionate trust, with a commitment to constant improvement within the fast‑moving healthcare environment. All staff have the opportunity for training in leadership, service improvement, and personal growth through structured supervision and regular bespoke development opportunities.

If you are looking for a role that will stretch your clinical reasoning, strengthen your leadership skills and give you scope to influence service development in a rewarding environment, this could be your next step.

Flexible working, part‑time and job‑share options are available for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for a highly complex caseload using an interdisciplinary, patient‑focused rehabilitative approach.

To provide clinical leadership and specialist advice, through supervision, education of students, Band 5, Multi‑Therapy Assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

To identify service developments, needs, contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the service and have responsibility for defined projects.

To provide highly skilled and specialist assessments of occupational performance, plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based client‑centred intervention, maintaining the associated records in compliance with the standards from the College of Occupational Therapy and the Trust.

This post will be based at St Mark's Hospital Maidenhead. Current working pattern is Monday – Friday. Working patterns are subject to clinical and service demands and are reviewed regularly to ensure these are met.

The post holder may have to provide cross‑service clinical and/or workforce support to other Berkshire Healthcare services, as required, in response to service demand or operational pressures.
