We also advise clients, who have capacity, on setting up personal injury trusts.The team consists of 1 Equity partner, 3 Solicitors, 3 Paralegals, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 1 Costings Assistant together with a Secretarial Team.The team is based in Salisbury, but the solicitors work on a hybrid basis and also travel regularly to meet clients.The position You will be joining a team that specialises in providing Court of Protection Deputyship support for clients who have on-going complex Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence claims. This involves managing multi-million-pound awards. You will work closely with the Partner that oversees this specialist team.Key objectives and responsibilitiesTo provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients and family members, within the context of the Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislationThe management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assisting with tax affairs and accounts, drafting Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of ProtectionAttend clients at hospitals, in their home and care/nursing homesPreparing applications to the court of protectionAssisting in the purchase of properties and adapting them for the needs of the clientSupervising and overseeing personal finances including working with IFAs and investment managersMake regular payments to clients and keep accurate schedules of these paymentsLiaising with case managers, medical professionals and specialistsAssisting the team to develop the business furtherDelegate and supervise tasks where appropriate to paralegals and traineesWork as a part of a team under the supervision of the Partner (if Associate or Senior Associate) Person specification The successful candidate recently qualified or will have previous experience of working in a Court of Protection role.Exceptional client relationship skillsAble to work to tight deadlines and in a high paced environmentFlexible and proactive approach with 'can do' attitudeOrganised and able to prioritiseHave a full driving licence and own transport as driving yourself to meet clients is an essential part of the roleLocationSalisbury, WiltshireWorking Hours9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour unpaid lunch breakBenefitsAnnual salary from £46,000 depending on experience27 Days Holiday + Bank HolidaysPension, Life AssurancePrivate Medical InsurancePermanent Health InsuranceOptional BenefitsJob TypePermanent
