Job Overview
Fire & Security Installation & Commissioning Engineer – located in Manchester / Leeds at Marlowe Fire & Security. In this role you will join an engineering design team specialising in the inspection and assessment of fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings and facilities.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, supply and installation of fire safety systems.
* Liaise with external designers and other construction and building professionals on a wide range of projects.
* Use fire‑specific design software and support the application of advanced digital tools.
* Conduct research across multiple skill groups to develop evidence‑based fire safety solutions.
* Visit sites to monitor the implementation of fire strategies and learn about the installation and construction of fire safety systems.
* Contribute to a variety of high‑profile clients while being supported in learning about fire engineering and developing as a fire engineer.
* Take responsibility from day one to produce fire strategies and support ongoing maintenance and monitoring.
* Work towards attaining professional qualification with organisational support.
Qualifications and Skills
* Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a prediction of a 2:2 or above in a relevant subject; acceptable disciplines include Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.
* Excellent written English, with evidence of own work where requested.
* Strong numerical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Creative approach to problem solving and the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
* Organised and deadline‑driven with the ability to use own initiative, remain inquisitive and proactive.

Additional Information
* Salary: £40,000–£45,000 basic for a 40‑hour week (overtime available).
* Company Van supplied for commuting.
