Finance Manager Location: Leicestershire Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 Overview: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and expanding housebuilder based in Leicestershire. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting while providing meaningful management information to support business performance. This position will suit a technically strong and hands-on finance professional who enjoys leading the full finance cycle - from statutory reporting and audit through to management accounts and business partnering - within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: * Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycle, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. * Lead on the preparation of statutory accounts, audit files, and year-end processes, working closely with external auditors. * Produce accurate and timely management accounts, board packs, and variance analysis to support decision-making. * Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations, control accounts, and financial governance across all entities. * Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow to ensure strong financial discipline and visibility. * Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide insight into project performance and profitability. * Drive process and system improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and financial control. * Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth. * Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives, tax and audit compliance, and system developments. About You: * Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience. * Proven background as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller, ideally within housebuilding, construction, or a related sector. * The ideal candidate will come from an audit background, seeking their first or second move into industry. However, experience within the construction or housebuilding sector - either through your audit portfolio or direct industry exposure - is essential. * Solid technical grounding in financial and statutory accounting, with experience managing audits and producing year-end accounts. * Strong management accounting and analytical skills, with commercial awareness. * Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. * Highly organised, detail-driven, and proactive. * Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
