The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing or procurement at a senior buyer or purchasing manager level.
Role responsibilities of the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager include:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with central purchasing, negotiate supplier contracts, and build strong supplier relationships.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and sourcing innovations to stay ahead
Lead and mentor the purchasing team, setting goals and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Manage supply chain efficiency through supplier performance evaluation, risk mitigation, and inventory oversight.Person Specification of the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager:
Prior experience in purchasing or procurement
Proven ability to mentor or supervise a team effectively
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
Excellent communication skills, confident in engaging with individuals at all organisational levels in a professional manner
