Health Records Supervisor
To assist in ensuring the provision of a high quality and cost‑effective Health Records Service, the Health Records Supervisor will be responsible for day‑to‑day supervision and the efficient running of specific functions including clinic preparation, scanning bureau and transportation of health records. The role also supports staff and managers as required.
This role is a cross cover providing support and guidance in both the health records library and scanning bureau, working closely with a colleague to ensure a professional service to the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of specific functions, ensuring an efficient and effective service for users.
* Ensure all agreed Health Records Standards and procedures are always adhered to.
* Ensure all staff have a good understanding of a patient digitised record.
* Maintain scanning/prepping logs.
* Ensure a continuous level of staffing is available within own area.
* Attend departmental meetings.
* Bring to the attention of the Deputy Health Records Manager any problems affecting smooth departmental operation.
* Provide or source cover for annual leave and sickness.
* Manage processes and systems in accordance with Health Records standards.
* Remain flexible to the needs of the Service to ensure smooth department running.
* Actively participate in departmental duties as required.
* Ensure all shifts are covered appropriately.
* Allow staff flexibility to rotate on similar roles within the Health Records Department.
* Expect staff to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays as required.
* Recognise the role is evolving and will be open to change depending on service priorities.
