To deliver high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the registered population of Cobham Health Centre, ensuring care is safe, effective, responsive, and aligned with CQC fundamental standards and NHS contractual requirements.
The postholder will contribute to the clinical, operational, and strategic development of the practice and wider Primary Care Network (PCN).
Sessions: 4–6 sessions per week (schedule to be discussed at interview)
Start Date: Summer 2026
Days worked: Monday, Thursday, and Friday required
Salary: Negotiated according to skillset and experience
NHS pension, 6 weeks annual leave, + 1 week study leave (pro rata), BMA‑aligned contract
Main Duties of the Job
* Structured appointment clinical sessions
* Document and prescription administration; mix of routine, urgent, and on‑the‑day care
* On‑call duty, on a rota basis
* Undertake home visits
* Cover care home and school ward‑round visits when necessary
* Supported by a strong nursing and administrative team
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a full range of NHS general medical services to registered and temporary patients
* Undertake face‑to‑face and telephone consultations
* Manage acute, chronic, and complex conditions in line with NICE guidance
* Deliver safe prescribing in accordance with local and national policies
* Undertake clinical administration, including:
o Reviewing results
o Managing repeat prescriptions
* Ensure accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web
Quality & Safety
* Maintain compliance with CQC standards
* Participate in clinical audits, significant event analysis, and quality improvement initiatives
* Adhere to safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NICE guidance and best practice
Practice & PCN Contribution
* Engage in practice meetings and multidisciplinary team working
* Contribute to service development and innovation within the practice
* Support delivery of PCN objectives and enhanced services
Teaching & Supervision
* Support training of GP trainees, medical students, and allied health professionals
* Contribute to a learning culture within the practice

* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practice
