Your Mission:
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our nuclear site assets. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Documentation Mastery: Author and manage design substantiation documentation that supports our nuclear safety case.
* Analytical Review: Review analyses, assessments, and calculations that underpin nuclear design substantiation.
* Safety Advocate: Support periodic safety reviews to maintain our high standards.
* Ownership & Leadership: Take charge of deliverables, showcasing your autonomy and leadership skills.
* Implementation Support: Assist in the rollout of design substantiation requirements.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority.
* Mentorship: Help develop fellow Nuclear Substantiation team members.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with the wider business on nuclear design substantiation activities.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Experience in the nuclear industry and familiarity with nuclear safety regulations.
* A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
* Determined: Drive deliverables through to completion.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
* A broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines.
* Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional body.
* Experience in nuclear design substantiation analysis and assessment.
