Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated individual to ensure the smooth running of the nursery's online sales operations and general nursery work.
Objective
* Support the smooth running of both nursery operations and online sales
* Assist with the efficient production, care, and dispatch of nursery stock
* Provide excellent customer service through timely website order fulfilment and occasional on-site customer interactions
Location
The post holder will be required to work at any of the locations as reasonably requested by the Company.
Essential Skills
* Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexibly across nursery and sales duties
* Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock and fulfilling orders.
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Comfortable with physical, hands-on work in varying conditions
* Basic IT skills for handling website stock updates and order documentation
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, forestry, or a similar role
* Customer service or retail experience
* Forklift licence or willingness to train
* PA1/PA6
Main Tasks
Website Sales & Customer Service
* Implement and maintain website product quality, checking stock for defects and ensuring accurate listings
* Plan, maintain, and update website stock records by species and size for easy identification
* Pick, sort, and package online customer orders promptly and accurately.
* Ensure website orders and documentation are completed and dispatched within agreed timescales (usually 24 hours)
* Act as a point of contact for occasional on-site customer visits, providing guidance and short tours of the business
* Maintain accurate records to support online sales, stock, and dispatch
General Nursery Work
* Support polytunnel operations including planting, fertilising, weeding, seeding, pruning, repotting, watering, and naming products as directed
* Assist with grading operations, including sorting and packing plants to specification
* Operate and maintain nursery tools and equipment safely.
* Dispose of waste materials correctly and maintain tidy, safe work areas.
* Follow all biosecurity and health & safety measures, including use of appropriate PPE
* Work flexibly across departments to meet operational needs
* Contribute ideas for improving efficiency and customer experience
* Support managers and colleagues with tasks as directed

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
