Framlingham Surgery in Woodbridge is seeking a motivated and committed GP to enhance patient care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We are especially interested in candidates with an interest in teaching and training, as we host students from Cambridge, UEA, and GP trainees, though this is not essential for the role.
This position involves 4-6 sessions per week at Framlingham Surgery. Initially, it is a 12-month fixed-term contract via the PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), with the potential for a permanent role.
Main duties of the job
1. Providing comprehensive medical services under the GMS contract.
2. Assessing and treating patients with diverse medical conditions.
3. Participating in signposting, clinical supervision, and triage systems to ensure efficient patient care.
4. Processing referrals, prescriptions, and administrative tasks.
5. Engaging in clinical meetings and contributing to practice development.
6. Supporting the training and development of colleagues, GP trainees, and students.
7. Participating in local and national healthcare initiatives to improve patient care.
8. Maintaining up-to-date medical records using SystmOne.
9. Occasional home or care home visits.
10. No extended hours.

Framlingham Medical Practice is a well-established dispensing practice with nearly 10,000 patients. We are forward-thinking and continually explore new ways to develop and benefit our patients.
The clinical team includes 4 GP partners, a salaried GP, a clinical pharmacist, 2 paramedics, an advanced nurse practitioner, 3 practice nurses, a nurse associate, 2 healthcare assistants, and a Phlebotomist. Our support staff includes experienced dispensary, administrative, and reception teams.
Research: In early 2024, Framlingham Medical Practice was approved as a research practice, and initial projects are underway.
Training Practice: We are proud of our partnerships with the University of Cambridge and UEA, hosting final-year students from both universities. We are also in the final stages of applying to become a GP training practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Right to work in the UK and eligibility to practice independently.
* Recently qualified GP with a CCT in General Practice obtained within the last two years, confirming completion of postgraduate training.
* Full GMC registration and inclusion on the National Performers List.
Experience
* Experience working in a GP practice.
* Commitment to high-quality patient care.
* Strong communication and IT skills.
* Experience with SystmOne, QOF, audits, and medicines management.
* Interest in training, mentoring, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Experience working in a PCN or multidisciplinary team.
