Offer description

We are more than just a software development house for the manufacturing and automotive sectors. At SMT, we don’t just create CAE software—we empower innovation. Whether you’re designing next-generation powertrain solutions or supporting the digital infrastructure that makes it all possible, every role here drives progress. By supporting our IT, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our engineers and global teams have the tools, systems, and stability they need to deliver excellence. As an Information Systems & Support Technician, you will be part of our Information Services department. The Information Services department underpins SMT’s global operations by delivering secure, reliable, and scalable digital infrastructure. We manage the full lifecycle of technology hardware and software, support frontline and remote users, secure digital identities, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems. This role plays a key part in facilitating on-site requirements for IT support and the continuous improvement of systems and services through on-site technical assistance, documentation, and collaboration, with a focus on frontline support for Windows, Hyper-V and Microsoft 365 environments. You will report directly to the Head of Information Services and may occasionally be required to travel to our other UK sites in Nottingham and Milton Keynes.

Compliance: Ensure systems and processes comply with company policies and industry regulations. Stay up to date and compliant with relevant legislation and enterprise governance with particular attention to the requirements of Information Security, Data Protection and Quality policies and practices.
Helping Hand: Act as a helping hand to senior team members by supporting the execution of directed tasks on site, contributing to collaborative service delivery.

Basic IT certifications, particularly Microsoft certifications are highly desirable for this role.
Experience with Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu, SUSE), and quality and/or security standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, would be beneficial but is not a hard requirement.

You’ll join a fast-paced, flexible, and collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions are valued.
