Overview
Azenta Life Sciences specializes in designing and manufacturing consumables and benchtop instrumentation for the life sciences industry.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to be based at our manufacturing site in Wotton, Surrey.
Responsibilities
* Drive improvements in processes and procedures for manufacturing, assembly, or packing of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies by investigating new methods and improving existing ones.
* Create, review, and update work instructions for production and assembly, ensuring they are accurate, easy to follow, and properly controlled.
* Lead and participate in improvement and insourcing projects.
* Apply problem-solving tools and techniques to resolve issues in production and assembly processes.
* Create and maintain BOMs and work definitions.
* Capture learning experiences from shop floor activities and update manufacturing process documentation accordingly.
* Liaise with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products and updates.
* Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling, equipment, and process requirements for new or existing product lines.
* Support production during high demand or staff absence.
Qualifications
* Level 3 or higher qualification in Manufacturing Engineering or similar disciplines.
* Experience with process improvements and problem solving.
* Ability to work independently or in small teams and larger groups to identify root causes and implement solutions promptly.
* Experience with injection moulding or electrical assembly is beneficial.
