Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
Summary of Role
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and hard-working Group Accountant. The role will report directly into the Group Corporate Reporting Manager and will play a key role in establishing a high performing finance team.
This role will involve maintaining accounting records and subsequent production of monthly management accounts for companies within the group, with supporting analysis and reconciliations. You will also be involved in intercompany balances, including reconciliations and investigations of amounts, management of group recharges and maintenance of group bank account listings.
Anthesis is a fast paced and growing business, and this role is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow with the business. As controls are under continuous review and improvement across the group, it will require a proactive self-starter who has the ability and desire to drive positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing the Group month-end close including posting accruals, prepayments and journals
* Monthly review of the P&L accounts and reconciliation of the balance sheet.
* Develop monthly reviews with Group budget holders to ensure monthly P&L is fully reflective of the business activity
* Daily monitoring of bank accounts and cash-flow management, including settlement of intercompany balances
* Completing statutory returns for Companies House, HMRC etc including completing Group VAT returns
* Assist the Group Corporate Reporting Manager with the preparation of Group and subsidiary entity year end financial statements
* Consolidate monthly metrics reported to group to enable meaningful analysis
* Provide support throughout the group audit
* Provide support, where necessary to the Director of Tax and Treasury
* Collaborate on other ad hoc projects as required
Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise
Key Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualification with strong IFRS technical capabilities
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proactive self-starter with first class organizational ability, who is detail oriented, and results focused
* Proactive and a committed team player
* Knowledge of audit processes
* Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) is essential
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus
Desirable but not essential:
* Experience of working in a rapidly growing company
* Oracle Netsuite experience is preferred
* Accounting system, process design and implementation experience
* Change management experience
* Project accounting and management experience
