Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Ward Clerk on Acute Medical Unit (Admissions), where you will a play vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ward.

As a key member of the administrative team, you'll be responsible for managing patient records, coordinating appointments and providing essential support to healthcare professionals. This position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. This role is covering the medicine care group.

Main duties of the job

Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and enjoy meeting and working with the public.

Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job and NHS experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.

The successful applicants will be expected to cover all admin support for the wards and units.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

9. Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
10. Computer literacy skills to RSA 2, NVQ 2 or equivalent

Desirable criteria

11. Experience of dealing with confidential information
12. Experience (1 year minimum) Office/Administrative role
13. Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment

14. Possess sound communication skills
15. Ability to function effectively as part of a Team
16. Able to organise and prioritise own workload
