Offer description

An exciting opportunity to lead the role of Clinical Manager for our crisis pathway across the Acute and Urgent Care Service Line.

The portfolio includes Psychiatric Liaison services across Kingston, St Helier, and St Georges Hospitals, Home Treatment Teams across Kingston, Richmond, Sutton, Merton, and Wandsworth, as well as The Lotus Assessment Suite (Psychiatric Decision Unit, Health Based Place of Safety). Street Triage Services and Coral Mental Health Crisis Hub (MH Crisis Line, Rapid Assessment Clinic) are also part of the crisis pathway and are currently undergoing service transformation.

You will join a recently established, energetic, and collaborative leadership team, working within a fast-paced, challenging landscape. You will be supported by 3 x 8a Clinical Service Leads, the HTT ACD, and our wider senior leadership team. This role offers a significant opportunity to impact the service line and the wider Adult Patient Journey (APJ).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced manager within the Trust, with more than 2 years' experience at 8A or currently at an 8B level. The role combines professional leadership and clinical management, jointly accountable to the Head of Service and Head of Nursing. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality performance across the portfolio and providing visible leadership to your team.

We seek an individual with a strong track record of delivery, excellent leadership qualities, and the ability to inspire and engage staff, external partners, and patients. The post involves representing the services in forums such as cluster, service line governance, and business meetings, and playing a key role with external partners.

We are proud to belong to South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, which has a rich history and a commitment to providing the best mental health care. Our services are rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission, with aspirations to become 'outstanding'.

This is an exciting time to join us as we transform our care delivery to support our mission of Making Life Better Together. We have built two new world-class mental health facilities at Springfield University Hospital, with further developments planned as we invest £120m to upgrade our estate by 2027.

We value diversity and aim to attract individuals from all backgrounds to enrich our work. We are committed to co-producing and involving local communities in our initiatives.

We offer flexible working, career development opportunities, and a range of benefits to foster a positive and welcoming environment where careers can thrive.

Our main location is Springfield University Hospital, Tooting, a 19-ward site in Springfield Village, developed following a £150m investment into new facilities. The site offers access to shops, cafes, and excellent transport links via the Northern Line, Earlsfield, Tooting rail stations, and bus routes.

We support agile and flexible working arrangements and are open to discussing flexible work options during the interview. The role is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
