TheOpportunity:
As a Senior SurveyEngineer with Rovco you will be responsible for the mobilisationoperation maintenance and demobilisation of geophysical andhydrographic survey equipment onboard our nearshore and offshoresurvey vessels either working independently or as part of a team.As part of this role youll be responsible for acquiring data andensuring equipment is recording the quality of data we expect. Ourscopes are varied but we are predominantly engaged in renewableoperations. As part of our business well undertake a variety ofgeophysical UXO and ROV survey and inspection projects. Workingwith market leading technologies from external suppliers along withour internal Vaarst team this is not an opportunity to bemissed.
As part of this role there will opportunities towork with our fleet of ROV and USVs.
You are an integralpart of the Rovco team offshore and will be critical in the safeand successful execution of projects.
Youll be able tomake an impact by improving mobilisation efficiency by being theoffshore subject matter expert for all things survey equipment andby taking control of equipment issues offshore.
As we growyoull be able to take lead on new vessel mobilisations ensuringthat the vessel is delivered ready towork.
MainResponsibilities
* Mentorother members of the team by providing training and guidance.Support the team in accomplishing projectrequirements.
* Lead all toolbox talks asrequired and update risk assessments asrequired.
* Demonstrate commitment to andpromotion of Rovco values ensuring the realisation of companyHealth Safety Environmental Quality and Ethics systems policies andprocedures.
* Lead and direct teams to functiontest and install equipment.
* Record all testreports and identify any areas of concernimmediately.
* Liaise with Party Chief OffshoreManager and Onshore support teams as required in relation to anyissues with equipment preparation suitability and orperformance.
* Integrate sensors into suppliedsoftware packages.
* Undertake activities relatedto equipment mobilisation ensuring all tasks are completed andsigned off as directed.
* During operations workwith Online Survey teams to monitor equipment to ensure qualitydata can be collected.
* Assist with thecalibration for the Geophysical and Hydrographicequipment.
* Ensure all equipment is tested inaccordance with plan and schedule identifying and reporting anyrisks.
* Ensure all safety systems are functionalfor deployment.
* Monitorequipment.
* Acquire geophysical data fromsensors (SSS SBP MAG and others).
* Solveproblems autonomously.
* Carry out installationof both software and hardware ensuring accurate records arekept.
* Report and log faults. Work closely withProject teams to capture report details of fault providingtechnical input asrequired.
Youshould apply if youhave:
* Degree/HNDqualified in Engineering/Electronics or related discipline (orsignificant relevant experience)
* 4 yearsexperience as a Survey Engineer
* Offshoreexperience within a similar or equivalentrole
* Valid OGUK medical andBOSIET/FOET/HUET/GWO
* Demonstrated experience inoffshore survey engineering
* Experience ofHydrographic/Geophysical survey mobilisation and dataacquisition
* Experience with flying andoperating ROTV SSS and magnetometers
* Experiencewith positioning systems surface andsubsea
* Knowledge of ROV survey and theequipment used
* Operational experience of MBESSSS Mag SBP MUX USBLINS
