Job Overview
Seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team. If you're our ideal candidate, you'll have a passion for food and a keen willingness to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You'll be essential in supporting our Chef with various tasks, ensuring that our food preparation and service meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll also learn a lot, and benefit from in house and external training, as well as working within a friendly, supportive team.
Duties
* Meal preparation
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
* Support Head Chef with cooking and baking
* Assist with menu development
* Direct junior team members to assist you in meal preparation
* Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
* Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager
* Engage positively with team members to foster a collaborative work environment
Requirements
ESSENTIAL:
* Experience cooking and baking in a professional setting
* Able to adapt to systems and recipes already in use
* Able to prioritise tasks and work well under time pressure
* Able to work flexibly over 7 days with occasional weekend work
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
DESIREABLE:
* Experienced in delegating tasks and training junior staff members
* Experience managing inventory and ordering, costing meals etc.
* Health and Hygiene certificate level 2 or 3
