JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
I am a 12 year old boy living with my family in the Aberdare area. I have learning difficulties and require assistance and care when accessing activities in the community.
The role will also involve providing support in order to maintain a safe and progressive family environment and to assist with my ongoing development. This will include attending activities with my family including my siblings.
Other day to day tasks may include the school runs and shopping. Also paramount is assisting me with playing and exercising as any other child of a similar age would require.
HOURS OF WORK
This is a casual position to cover my other PA when they are on annual leave and sickness. There usual working hours are 16 per week.
RATES OF PAY
Meets NMW plus 40p per mile.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
1. Accompanying me to the park, on occasions it will be with the family as I have 2 siblings.
2. Occasional school runs when the other PA is on annual or sick leave.
3. Playing games/exercising.
4. Ensuring my safety when out and about.
5. Accompanying the family on trips out i.e. school run, shopping, day trips etc.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
1. Someone who will be reliable and trustworthy.
2. Someone who will be happy to work alongside the family.
3. Someone who will be able to cover other PA’s hours when on holiday or off sick.
4. Someone who can be flexible and understanding.
5. Own transport may be needed on occasions.
ABOUT THE JOB
Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a calendar monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to a probationary period, a DBS (Police) Check and Right to work in the UK checks.
