CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is recruiting a Facilities Manager to join our site based in Huddersfield, overseeing building operations and maintenance for a facility or campus.
What You Will Do
* Own operational delivery of a large client site.
* Attend/Lead client stakeholder meetings.
* Provide formal supervision for employees; monitor training and development of staff; conduct performance evaluations and coaching; oversee recruiting and hiring of new employees.
* Manage budgets to ensure work aligns with financial plans.
* Deliver monthly meetings for Operations and Finance.
* Schedule and manage the team's daily activities; establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross‑train staff; set and track staff and department deadlines; mentor and coach as needed.
* Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
* Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings regarding unresolved facility issues.
* Prepare and manage capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
* Perform facility inspections and quality assurance; suggest operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities following local, state, and federal regulations.
* Manage environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
* Oversee vendor relationships and invoicing procedures; review price quotes for procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
* Demonstrate strong commercial acumen by reviewing supplier performance and contracts, challenging costs and service levels, and identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and value for money.
* Conduct process and procedure training on maintenance, repairs, and safety best practices.
What You Will Need
* Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3–5 years of relevant experience; in lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
* Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
* Ability to convey sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, set performance expectations, and handle problems effectively.
* Leadership skills to motivate a team and impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
* Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
* Strong commercial acumen, with experience reviewing supplier performance against KPIs/SLAs and interpreting contract terms to drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
