Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a production supervisor to join our new Offsite facility in Dewsbury. In this role you will deliver effective and lean production of offsite solutions as part of the production team, ensuring that projects are manufactured to specification and delivered in line with planned costs, durations and efficiencies. You will work with the operations team to ensure that any re-engineering and pre-assembly solutions are incorporated and variations to initially agreed plans are managed in accordance with NG Bailey Offsite (OSM) processes.
Our new facility will be available from early 2026, so the successful candidate may be required to initially work from our Bradford site until the Dewsbury premises are available.
Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce site safety rules and ensure proper use of PPE.
Conduct safety checks and risk assessments.
Lead incident investigations and report findings.
Team Supervision & Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of production operatives across shifts.
Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure targets are achieved.
Provide coaching, support, and motivation to team members.
Production Oversight:
Monitor production lines to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
Coordinate with planning and logistics to meet production schedules.
Troubleshoot issues and escalate where necessary.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
Support quality inspections and implement corrective actions.
Promote a culture of “right first time” and continuous improvement.
Communication & Reporting:
Liaise with senior supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams.
Provide shift handovers and daily production reports.
Communicate updates, changes, and priorities to the team.
Training & Development:
Support onboarding and training of new staff.
Ensure team members follow SOPs and work instructions.
Identify training needs and support skill development.
Resource & Workflow Management:
Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and in good condition.
Manage line changeovers and ensure readiness for production.
Optimise workflow to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Issue Resolution:
Identify and escalate production issues, such as equipment failures or material shortages.
Work with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
Suggest and implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
* Mechanical and/or electrical engineering
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
* Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems
* Good people skills with a drive to develop and nurture talent
* Solid understanding of production processes and quality standards.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure and solve problems quickly.
* Organised, proactive, and safety-focused.
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a production environment is essential.
* Experience of organising and establishing project specific systems to ensure the smooth flow of project works
