Eynsham Medical Group is a friendly, supportive, and innovative training practice providing primary care to over 16,000 patients across two sites.
We are seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our nursing team. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Successful applicants should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing phlebotomy and related services to support clinical staff.
The working hours are across three set weekdays, ideally Monday and Tuesday mornings, and Wednesday afternoons, with some occasional weekend work on Saturdays at an enhanced pay rate.

Job responsibilities
Health Care Assistant Role
Reports to: Nurses, GPs, Practice Manager and Deputy
Purpose: To support nursing and GP services, ensuring efficient delivery of healthcare to patients.
Key duties include:
* Undertaking clinical tasks such as weight, height, blood pressure, venipuncture, ECGs, and specimen handling.
* Assisting with health checks, infection control, vaccine administration, and minor procedures like wound care and leg ulcer dressings.
* Supporting training of new staff and students, managing stock, and maintaining clinical standards.
Person Specification
Experience
* IT literacy and good communication skills
* Experience as a Health Care Assistant, including wound care and phlebotomy
Qualifications
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or higher
Additional Competencies
* Satisfactory enhanced DBS check
* Motivated, team-oriented, adaptable, and reliable
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This position requires a satisfactory DBS check due to the nature of the role.
Salary: £12.60 to £13 per hour, with top band for wound dressing experience.
