Engineering Technician
Join GE Vernovas Power Conversion business to work on cutting‑edge electrification systems that power high‑performance applications worldwide. Our team designs, manufactures, and maintains advanced electrical rotating machinery used in marine and industrial sectors, contributing to energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and fit frames, including instrumentation, auxiliary boxes and wiring.
* Assemble mains and neutral terminal boxes and perform bearing assembly.
* Carry out pipe fitting and machine alignment tasks.
* Operate overhead cranes (training provided).
* Maintain a clean, tidy work area in line with 5S standards.
* Adhere to EHS requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Skills & Abilities
* Prior mechanical/electrical fitting experience.
* Ability to read and work from drawings and schematics precisely, understanding tolerances and symbols.
* Proficient at measuring components to tight tolerances using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore microscopes, DTI gauges.
* Team‑player with initiative to meet production targets and deadlines.
* Availability for late shifts and overtime support.
* Experience with rotating machinery a plus.
