The First Opinion Leadership team at Scarsdale Vets welcomes applications from enthusiastic vet surgeons for an exciting development opportunity at our RCVS-accredited practice in Alfreton, Derbyshire. We handle a mix of routine and emergency medical and surgical cases, striving to deliver the highest quality of care. We offer a welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata) and relocation support of up to £5000.
Rota patterns that work for you
We provide flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle and interests, whether balancing home life or around school commitments. A typical full-time role involves working 38 hours over 4 days, with a 1:6 Saturday shift (08:30 - 13:00) at our Langley Mill practice, with time off in lieu. Bank holiday work is required at our main Pride Park hospital on a rota basis, with potential to assist across practice sites.
A bit about us
We are a multisite practice in the Midlands, with a main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital and 8 practice sites, all accredited under the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. Our team includes 25 Veterinary Surgeons, supported by Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, and Client Care Advisors. Many team members hold certificates in Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Ophthalmology, and Imaging, with active encouragement for further certification. Our main hospital is equipped with advanced imaging and surgical facilities, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, and more, alongside an onsite hydrotherapy and rehabilitation centre, and a referral service.
Our Alfreton location offers comprehensive veterinary services, including consultation rooms, a prep area, operating theatre, separate wards, and imaging facilities. The practice promotes a dog- and cat-friendly environment with dedicated waiting areas.
