Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of a client that supports individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.
The role is crucial for ensuring the organisation performs effectively and efficiently, complying with external and internal reporting and compliance requirements. It involves supervising various functions within the finance department, primarily focusing on management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and staff management. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
2. Assist with grant applications and claims.
3. Support grant and verification audits.
4. Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts reports, including variance analysis.
6. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
7. Provide project management support.
8. Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
9. Promote GDPR compliance and cyber security within the department.
10. Line management and staff training, including mentoring staff.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
* At least 3 years' experience in a finance role within a large, diverse organisation.
* Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of ISO systems or other quality management systems.
Desirable: Experience with grant funding, managing and mentoring staff.
